Long-time Elkhorn guests, visiting the Main Lodge Dining Room confirm that that grand room remains today as it appeared in the 1920’s. With a capacity of over 250, it is one of the larger dining facilities available within walking distance to the Town Center. There are only a few large dining or meeting rooms in a facility that can also provide lodging centrally located, and none possessing the range of outdoor activities equal to the Elkhorn.


The Elkhorn’s lodging capacity, from the early 1900’s, exceeded 200 and the Main Lodge Dining Room was where meals were served; folks arrived and received 3 meals/day; lodging, a horse for their personal use for approximately $8/day. They were assigned specific seats in the Dining Room and, each morning, completed their menu requests for the next 3 meals; these were days without refrigeration and meat was served fresh, with fish being caught and eaten on the same day.
