The
Elkhorn’s lodging capacity, from the early 1900’s,
exceeded 200 and the Main Lodge Dining Room was where meals
were served; folks arrived and received 3 meals/day; lodging,
a horse for their personal use for approximately $8/day.
They were assigned specific seats in the Dining Room and,
each morning, completed their menu requests for the next
3 meals; these were days without refrigeration and meat
was served fresh, with fish being caught and eaten on the
same day.
