Illustrative buffet food service, Main Lodge Dining Room

During summer, June-August, our daily food service is generally breakfast in the Main Lodge Dining Room, or, when the weather is extremely nice, a continental breakfast served at our poolside Courtyard Pavilion. Unless we have a special group request, we do not serve lunch.

The evening meal is normally limited to the HayLoft, featuring steaks, trout, Chef’s special, and kiddy-burgers.

The Elkhorn’s food services for groups are primarily provided in the Main Lodge Dining Room, the Main Lodge Ballroom, the Courtyard & Pavilion Banquet area, and the HayLoft.


Except for the Main Lodge Dining Room, the food served is catered from the Main Lodge Dining Room kitchen. Additionally, the kitchen staff routinely caters food for group picnics at the Huck Finn Trout Pond Pavilion and to Elkhorn Mountain Summit for the Stables’ breakfast & steak dinner trail rides. Food services can be provided at just about any location on our 68 acres.

For our larger groups, we are proud to have had the same Executive Chef for food preparation over the past ten years.

Over that period of time, the only complaint we have ever received was that we ran short of food (that does not mean we prepared an insufficient quantity; it means that some groups can really chow-down on great tasting food, far beyond the 125% of the standard portion/person guide we typically use).

Without exception, every group meal has resulted in our receiving complements from the guests as to the excellence of the food.
